NSCR's Environmental Corner - Environmental Education - Examples
Many Greek schools are active in environmental education (EE). The course theme organization and execution is carried out through collaboration of the instructor with the students. We have selected three theme that have been tought in the framework of such lessons and we have presented information relevant to these themes that we have aquired solely through the Internet.

"The use of pesticides in agriculture"
An educational tool from the University of Nebraska's Agriculture and
Natural Resources Department. Browsing through this site one may find useful
information to enhance, prepare and help in lesson/course execution.
"Sustainable Development"
Prevention of environmental problems trhough porper use of pesticides
is included in this site from the University of California at Davis.
"Ocean Planet"
The Smithsonian Institte of Natural History's electronic guide to the
Ocean Planet exhibition. This site inlcludes an extensive presentation
of the oceans and educational tools for instructors and their pupils. An
overview of the contents shows one how to make a practical museum guide.
Presentation of three sites that include scientific information and educational tools that address main environmental issues. Each example contains characterisitic unit of environmental problems.
