Forests and Biodiversity

To encourage preservation of a broad range of ecosystems, the World Conservation Union has set a goal of having 10 percent of each of the world's biomes (a broad, regional ecological community) protected by the year 2000. These include marine ecosystems as well, like threatened coral reefs.
