The aim of the Institute
of Social Policy is to become a hub and point of reference
in the research and defining of Greek social policy. The definition
of the Institute as such establishes the orientation and developmental
axis.
Scientific goals and orientation of
the Institute:
- In depth research and expansion
of activities in field; compilation
of information on present social policy problems in Greece.
- The development of the social
policy theory in our country and the creation of a scientific
methodology in approaching
issues of social policy.
- The establishment of the Institute
as a forum for dialogue in
the field of social policy and as a venue for working groups,
conventions, international meetings and more.

- Research Seminars
- Promotion publication activities
with working papers, special monographs and more
- Organization of symposia and special
meetings
- Networking with other distinguished
research centers and similar Institutes in Greece and abroad
- Organizing an "Annual Lecture"
on Social policy with the participation of nationally and internationally
renowned scientists in the field

The Institute promotes research in theoretical
fields but mainly emphasizes applied and empirical research conducted
in cooperation with the General Secretariat
of Research and Technology (GSRT), a number of Ministries,
state organizations, the private sector, the E.U. and international
organizations. The research personnel collaborates with Universities
and other Institutes in Greece and abroad.
