Organisation of excursions that fall within the scope of a three-month programme (visiting biotopes, participation in

ecological seminars, voluntary work).

Organisation of two-month seminars in spring mainly by members of our organisation in relation to mechanical

equipment, cyclists’ behaviour on the road and advise on bicycle purchase.

Activities - Results:

Elaboration of a study for the construction of a bicycle lane in Athens and its submission to the municipality of Athens

and the Ministry of the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works.

Co-operation with transport planners in order to carry out a study for the calculation of the distribution to all

transport modes (i.e. bicycle, private car, bus-public transport, and motorcycle) of trip duration in Athens. The trip

duration for the bicycles was close to those of motorcycles which was the lowest of all.

Activities - Results:

The members of the therapeutic groups were trained so as to physically prepare themselves for the Athens-

Thessalonica cycling race organised by KETHEA (1990-91).

Seminars were given to the members of the therapeutic group 'Diavasi' in relation to cycling issues.

Provision of advise on bicycle purchase and voluntary collaboration and participation in the organisation of excursions

with the groups' members.
