Legal Status

Today the Organisation is Civic non Profit Organisation since 1990

Initially the Organisation was Non Typical Collaboration since 1982

Aims

To prevent ecological destruction in Thessaloniki, Greece and the whole planet/ To act in a common way in order to

protect the natural and cultural environment / to promote social solidarity / to defend peace and to resolve our

differences on a personal, national and international level via the principles of non violence

Activities - Results:

Action taken for the prevention of environmental degradation. Sensitisation of the public in relation to the need to

protect the neighbouring to Thessalonica estuaries and water courses.

Action taken against the negative impacts stemming from the operation of the sewage pipe.

Organisation of various events, distribution of brochures, publications in relation to the pollution caused by the

operation of ETHYL industry.

Disclosure of the dangers involved in the use of substances that destroy ozone layer on the occasion stemming from

the operation of an ammonia tank in the area.

JET OIL: Disclosure of the dangers involved and of the negative impact to the environment and peoples' health

before, during and after the big fire of 1986. Demonstrations, announcements, occupations and legal interventions.

Seich-Sou forest: Battles were given against the construction of the East regional road. Demonstrations, happenings,

cycling e.t.c.

Seich-Sou forest: Battles were fought against building and 'cementing'.

Battles were fought against building within Chortiatis area from Kissos company. Lodging of appeals to the State

Council with satisfactory results.

Furthermore, dynamic interventions were made such as road blockades, demonstrations, petition.

bringing into an end the country's dependence on conventional (fossil) fuels.

neighbouring prefectures in order to sensitise the public.

Collection of paper and aluminium from dozens of schools of Thessalonica and recycling of the profits back to the

Operation of a recycling participation network for the collection of materials from their source.

Contribution to the development of an anti-war and peace-making mentality among the Greek society and connecting

to express the freedom of conscience, to promote peace at an international level and through a personal thesis.
