The Organisation is Association - Union since 1993

Aims

To repair the damages caused by the fire / to protect the forest and generally the environment / to study and

promote solutions of the problems occurring in the areas where afforestation takes place / to promote feelings of

social responsibility in the members of the association and in the citizens.

General Issue: Conservation of the natural environment

Activities - Results:

Active participation in the putting out of forest fires throughout the last two years

Interventions made to the competent authorities about the uncontrollable stock grazing at the burned areas

Activities - Results:

Printing of a poster and its selling all around Greece. The financial outcome was very good.

Purchase of a fire tender from the income generated from selling the posters.

Construction of 2 water tanks for watering the reforestation saplings / Co-organisation and participation in the

reforestation scheme with various other agencies.

Around 20,000 saplings were planted during a three-day period.

Activities - Results:

Entering an appeal against the dumping of road construction waste to the sea during road widening. The contractor

was pronounced innocent, since two years after the incident the beach had self-absorbed the impact.

Constant actions taken to restrict the dumping of construction works waste to the beaches of the area.

Planning the continuation of several areas afforestation: Tree planting of the road line, which is under construction and

leads to the airport and dealing with overgrazing in the specific areas
