General Issue: Endangered species and ecosystems

Activities - Results:

Elaboration of a long-term research study in Aegean in relation to the Mediterranean seal (population surveying,

locations and description of biotopes).

Description and assessment of threats . Collection of signatures, analysis of the petition results and their publication

to the European Union and the Ministry of the Environment, Physical Planning and public Works

Elaboration of research on the location of the Mediterranean seal in Adriatic sea. This research project was financed

by the European Union through the Ministry of the Environment and from United Nations' Environment Programme.

Co-operation with the European Fund for the Natural Heritage for the development of material related to

Mediterranean sea and the Mediterranean seal, to be used by environmental organisation. Information and

Surveying and location of species of Greece. Observing and studying the disease affecting the dolphins. Elaboration

of a lecture with the purpose of informing the journalists and the public.

Analysis of necropsy samples of sea mammals in collaboration with EKTHE.

Participation in conferences and presentation of the research results.
