Legal Status

Today the Organisation is Association - Union since 1992

Initially the Organisation was Non Typical Collaboration since 1988

Aims

Protection of wild fauna-biotopes / providing first aid and nursery in all species of wild fauna aiming at their release

in natural environment / Awareness-sensitization of authorities and citizens on subjects of wild fauna and in

general on subjects of environment

Monitoring and registration of wild fauna species of the region and generally of the Greek dominion

Material Substructure

Office: Granted for free, Operating days: Everyday for nursing animals / every Monday for meetings, Operating

hours: Constantly from 19.00-21.00

There are databases in Paper its morph and structure is Cards of animals for medical attention / Environmental

Education files for primary and high school (wetlands, fauna) / 3 series of slides (introducing the organizations

work to children, adults etc) / library (reading is permitted inside the organization)

Activities Hall: It depends on the performer institution of the demonstration

Performance material: 20 tables of photographs, series of slides, photocopy machine, projector,

Video machine (borrowed)

For the organisation are offering voluntary work: 10 persons.

General Issue: Conservation of natural inheritance

The activity took place in 1991 Range: Local

Activities - Results:

Actions in collaboration with the ecological movement of Volos with regards to the declaration of the Achillion cinema

as 'scheduled building'. The outcome was positive.

Co-operation with 'Proti' newspaper with which a permanent co-operation regarding the writing of articles

Organisation - participation in events co-organised by schools, municipalities and communes, and associations in

relation to the organisation's activities through the organisation of speeches, exhibitions, slide showing,

Co-operation with Nea Ionia municipality (publication of printed material - information) and the scouts with the view

to participate in an experimental recycling programme (3 municipality districts during the first phase and the whole of

the town during the second phase)

Expression of opposition to the -proposed plans for the extension of a hospital as a neo-classical building will have to

be demolished

Protest meetings in collaboration with the Ecological movement of Volos, the Citizen's Committee and the association

of architects. Finally, the extension took place

avoiding the filling of Krafidonas' torrent with rubble as well as its conversion into a road.

Observation - recording of birds, amphibians and reptiles at the three (out of 22) most important wetland in South

Expression of opinion, events aiming at informing the public and media coverage for the purpose of creating cyclists

networks in collaboration with Ecological movement of Volos. These interventions resulted in the elaboration of two

studies by Volos municipality, the implementation of which is pending

Interventions made to the prefecture, broadcaststs through the media in relation to air-spraying issues (1996).

Organisational contribution to the attempt made to create an Organic Products Market on a weekly basis. Result: the

creation of the 'Green Market' in Volos.
