In the lesson called “Results of Uniba training session aimed at administrative staff” the informative feedback and useful suggestions for a correct and effective implementation of the MaxiPAC_EU procedure are discussed in detail, in the light of the topics covered in the online training organised by the University of Bari, addressed to the administrative staff of the Maxipac Project Partners in the last January 2022.

The video lesson, called “Video Testimony CAP_University of Bari” gives a brief presentation of CAP Uniba, the Service Centre for Lifelong Learning of University of Bari “Aldo Moro” and the inclusion services promoted to support the academic integration of refugee students.

How should I behave in case I feel that the documents and/or the certification presented are not valid and authentic? What if I fear that the Institution that issued the certification is not accredited?

-- In Italy, you can contact the CIMEA, the Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (https://www.cimea.it/EN). Since 1984, CIMEA has performed its specific activity of information and advising on the procedures of qualifications recognition and on themes linked to Italian and international higher education and training. -- The principal objective of CIMEA is to facilitate the comparability between the Italian training system and the foreign education, sponsoring the principles of the Lisbon Recognition Convention on qualifications’ recognition. CIMEA owns an international document centre and specialised databases on foreign higher education systems, on the types of qualifications of every country and on the national legislation in terms of higher education. -- It supplies on average, via email, and free of charge, replies to around 20,000 enquiries on the theme of qualification recognition and evaluation every year, to Italian and foreign universities, university students, lecturers and researchers, international organizations, ministries, research institutes and Italian and foreign public bodies, institutions, companies and associations, Italian and European citizens, and citizens from all continents.

How can I manage a situation where the student affirms he/she has a Degree/qualification but he/she has no documents to attest it?

You can get in contact with the Council of Europe and ask information about the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees. It is a special international tool developed to assess refugee’s qualifications for which there is insufficient or missing documentation (https://www.coe.int/en/web/education/recognition-of-refugees-qualifications)

How can I help a student who has partially attended a degree course in his/her country of origin and wishes to enrol in my University?

-- You need to contact the coordinator of the degree course, who will ask his board to assess the evidences produced about previously acquired competences in terms of learning contents, professional skills, learning outcomes and educational credits acquired by the student in the disciplinary field in his/her country of origin. Then, once approved the student will be invited to enroll to the course to continue his/her education in the field moving forward to the following academic years.
