LIBRARY PROFILE

The library was founded in 1959, when EKKE was established, under the auspices of UNESCO. The purpose of the library is to serve the bibliographical needs of the research programmes of EKKE and to provide information to anyone interested in social science issues. In view of that, the library provides its users with automated services. It makes use of Advance of Geac, the special software for libraries in addition to the online catalogue. Through this online catalogue, users are able to search the material of the library by author, title and subject. The library serves the researchers and the other personnel of the Centre in addition to many external associates, scientists and students. The library is located in EKKE’s building and provides reading rooms and computer workstations. The collection is accessible to all and is classified according to the Dewey Decimal System.
