A public research institution with a long history in studying Greek society, EKKE aims to add to existing specialist knowledge in the field of social sciences, in the context of a continuously changing world. It aims to provide services to authorities and any interested party in the form of in-house expertise, evaluations and research findings.

EKKE's newly created Web Lab, together with its research laboratories provides a common work space for research on critical issues. Through the provision of these services, the Web Lab contributes to new forms of knowledge and innovative techniques and methods. While capitalizing on the potential of EKKE's research laboratories and Observatories , the Web Lab offers training and employment to young researchers, as well as the continuous training of EKKE's scientific personnel in innovative applications.

Recent evaluations include : "Functions and Internal Organization of the Foundation for State Grants" (2010), and "Imperative for Entrance in the Labor Market " (2018) , awarded first prize in the category Best Applied Integrated Evaluation Methodology by the Greek Association of Evaluations.
