Athens Hosts the Annual Meeting of the World Internet Project (WIP) 2026

Athens will host the Annual Meeting of the World Internet Project (WIP) 2026 from June 12 to June 14, 2026, co-organized by the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). This prestigious international conference will center on the social, political, institutional, and cultural dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event kicks off on Friday, June 12, with a public panel discussion titled “The Future Was Here: The Disruptions of Artificial Intelligence” at the NKUA Central Building, featuring simultaneous English-Greek interpretation . It will be followed on June 13–14 by a specialized workshop at the Amarilia Hotel titled “Emergent AI Societies,” where global researchers will analyze crucial digital topics including AI regulation, public risks, misinformation, and digital rights.
