Lydia Avrami is a Political Scientist and researcher at the Institute of Political Research of the National Centre for Social Research, specializing in “Public Policy and Governance.” She received her PhD with distinction in Environmental and Climate Policy from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), with a scholarship from the Leventis Foundation (2011-2014). In 2019, she completed her postdoctoral research entitled “Social Aspects of Climate Change Policy in times of crisis,” funded by a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) (2017-2019).

She has participated in numerous research and educational programs as a scientific associate of the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE), the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), the Laboratory of European Integration and Policy, and the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2014, she worked as a visiting researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany, with a research fellowship from IKY. From 2018 to 2021, she taught the course “Environmental Governance” in the MA Program in International and European Studies (NKUA).

Her research interests focus on the effectiveness of public policies, the social dimensions of the green transition, energy and climate policies, social and environmental inequalities, and the role of interest groups.
