Local Communities, Marine Protected Areas, and Scuba Diving Tourism in the Cyclades.

This study aims to capture and provide a comparative analysis of the perceptions and opinions of local stakeholders and interest groups from three islands in the Cyclades with different levels of tourism development (Kythnos, Milos, Santorini) regarding the recently designated Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and the development of scuba diving tourism. The data analysis reveals a significant lack of information among local stakeholders and interest groups concerning the MPAs.
